1.Who We Are

VedicLens ("we," "us," or "our") is an AI-powered Vedic astrology platform operated at vediclens.app. Our platform provides Vedic birth chart analysis, Jyoti AI Scholar consultations, Panchang data, and related astrological content.

2.Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account.
• Birth data — date, time, and place of birth you enter to generate your Vedic chart. This is processed to compute planetary positions and is stored only if you save a chart or create an account.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We receive only a token and transaction status from Stripe.

Information collected automatically:

• IP address — used for rate limiting and fraud prevention. Not stored long-term.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, session duration. Collected via PostHog analytics (see Section 5).
• Error data — application errors and crash reports collected via Sentry to help us fix bugs.

3.How We Use Your Information

• To compute and display your Vedic birth chart and astrological data.
• To provide Jyoti AI Scholar responses using the Claude API (Anthropic). Your birth data and queries are sent to Anthropic for inference. Anthropic does not train on API data.
• To send you a confirmation email when you join the waitlist, and a launch notification email when we go live.
• To process subscription payments via Stripe.
• To monitor platform health and debug errors via Sentry.
• To understand how features are used via PostHog product analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraudulent or abusive use.

We do not use your birth data for advertising profiling, sell it to data brokers, or share it with any party not listed in Section 4.

4.Sharing Your Information

We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate VedicLens, each bound by data processing agreements:

• Supabase — database (PostgreSQL), hosted in US East (Virginia). Privacy Policy
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — backend compute and infrastructure. DPA
• Vercel — frontend hosting and delivery. Privacy Policy
• Stripe — payment processing. Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — AI inference for Jyoti (Claude API). Queries are processed transiently; not stored or used for training. Privacy Policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Privacy Policy
• Sentry — error monitoring. Error reports may include request metadata. Privacy Policy
• PostHog — product analytics. Data hosted on US servers. Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS. Privacy Policy

We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VedicLens, our users, or others.

5.Cookies & Analytics

We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies:

• Essential cookies — required for authentication sessions and security. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies (PostHog) — used to understand how visitors use the site (page views, feature usage, session replays). You may opt out via the cookie consent banner or by adjusting your browser settings.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies. We do not display ads.

6.Data Retention

• Waitlist emails — retained until the platform launches and you receive your launch notification, or until you request deletion.
• Account data — retained for the duration of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Birth chart data — retained until you delete it from your account.
• Payment records — retained as required by financial regulations (typically 7 years).
• Error logs — retained for 90 days via Sentry.
• Analytics data — retained for 12 months via PostHog.

7.Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection / Restriction — object to or restrict certain processing activities.
• Opt-out of sale — we do not sell personal data. There is nothing to opt out of.
• Non-discrimination — exercising your rights will never result in reduced service quality or access.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@vediclens.app with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area and believe we have not adequately addressed your concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8.Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• TLS/HTTPS enforced across all connections (HSTS preload enabled).
• API keys stored in GCP Secret Manager — never in source code.
• Row-Level Security (RLS) on all database tables.
• Rate limiting and bot protection via Cloudflare and slowapi.
• Regular dependency vulnerability audits.
• Strict Content Security Policy headers.

No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please email hello@vediclens.app responsibly before public disclosure.

9.Children's Privacy

VedicLens is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10.International Transfers

VedicLens is operated from the United States. Our primary database and compute infrastructure is in the US East (Virginia) region. If you access VedicLens from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.

For users in the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as the legal mechanism for data transfers, implemented through the data processing agreements of our sub-processors listed in Section 4.

11.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, if you have an account, notify you by email. Continued use of VedicLens after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
